ROPP stands for roll-on pilfer-proof. It is an aluminum cap that is rolled and threaded onto the bottle during capping, forming a custom-fit seal with a tamper-evident band that shows if the cap has been opened. ROPP caps are common on spirits, wine, and olive oil bottles.
A continuous thread closure is a standard screw cap with matching threads that seals a bottle when you twist it on. It is the most common closure type across packaging.

Start with your bottle's neck finish so the closure threads match, then consider whether you need child-resistant or tamper-evident features, the dispensing style (screw, pump, sprayer, flip-top, dropper), and whether the closure material is compatible with your product.
A neck finish is written as two numbers, such as 24-410. The first number is the neck diameter in millimeters and the second describes the thread style and height. Matching the neck finish is what ensures a cap seals correctly, so it is one of the first specs to confirm.
